NGC 3262 è una galassia lenticolare situata nella costellazione delle Vele, a una distanza di circa 150 milioni di anni luce dalla nostra Via Lattea.[1]
Scoperta
La galassia è stata scoperta il 3 febbraio 1835 dall'astronomo britannico John Herschel.[1]
Gruppo di NGC 3366
NGC 3262 fa parte del Gruppo di NGC 3366 composto da tre galassie. Il terzo membro del gruppo è NGC 3263.
È probabile che NGC 3262 formi una coppia di galassie con NGC 3263.[4]
