Max Brosmer (Davenport, 28 marzo 2001) è un giocatore di football americano statunitense che milita nel ruolo di quarterback per i Minnesota Vikings della National Football League (NFL).

Carriera universitaria

Brosmer iniziò la carriera nel college football giocando all'Università del New Hampshire dal 2019 al 2023. Fu nominato quarterback titolare della squadra già nella sua prima stagione.[1] In quella stagione passò 1.967 yard, 16 touchdown e 12 intercetti.[2] La stagione successiva fu posticipata alla primavera 2021 a causa della pandemia di COVID-19. Brosmer si ruppe il legamento crociato anteriore in allenamento l'anno successivo e saltò l'intera annata.[3] Tornato in campo nel 2022, passò 3.157 yard, 27 touchdown e 8 intercetti.[4] Nel 2023 guidò la NCAA FCS con 3.464 yard passate e terminò con 29 touchdown passati, venendo premiato come FCS All-American.[5] A fine anno decise di cambiare istituto.[6] Nel 2024 si trasferì dunque a Minnesota dove nell'unica stagione passò 2.617 yard, 17 touchdown e 5 intercetti, portando i Golden Gophers a un record di 7 vittorie e 5 sconfitte.[7]

Carriera professionistica

Minnesota Vikings

Dopo non essere stato scelto nel Draft NFL 2025, Brosmer firmò con i Minnesota Vikings il 26 aprile 2025.[8] Dopo una pre-stagione positiva riuscì a entrare nei 53 uomini del roster per l'inizio della stagione regolare.[9][10] Debuttò come professionista il 21 settembre subentrando nella gara contro i Cincinnati Bengals.[11] In quella partita completò 2 passaggi su 4 tentativi per 29 yard, diventando il primo quarterback proveniente dall'Università del Minnesota a disputare una gara ufficiale nella NFL dal 2002.[12] Il 28 novembre, due giorni prima della gara del tredicesimo turno contro i Seattle Seahawks, fu nominato titolare al posto dell'infortunato J.J. McCarthy.[13] In quella partita faticó molto, completando 19 passaggi su 26 per 126 yard e subendo 4 intercetti, di cui uno ritornato in touchdown, nella sconfitta per 26-0.[14] Nelle gare successive McCarthy tornò titolare ma Brosmer gli subentrò nella settimana 16 dopo un infortunio, riuscendo a conservare il vantaggio acquisito e a battere i New York Giants.[15]

Dopo un infortunio alla mano destra di McCarthy, Brosmer fu nuovamente nominato titolare contro i Detroit Lions per la gara della settimana 17.[16] In quella partita divenne il primo quarterback dell'era Super Bowl a passare meno di 70 yard, subire almeno 7 sack e a vincere comunque la partita.[17]
