Lee Hunter (Mobile, 2 luglio 2002) è un giocatore di football americano statunitense che milita nel ruolo di defensive tackle per i Carolina Panthers della National Football League (NFL).

Primi anni

Hunter è nato e cresciuto a Mobile[1], e cominciò a giocare a football alla Ben C. Rain High School prima di trasferirsi alla Mattie T. Blount High School.[2] Nel primo anno Hunter totalizzò 77 tackle e 8 sack.[3] Nell'ultima stagione delle superiori fece registrare 54 tackle e 4,5 sack.[2]

Carriera universitaria

Auburn

Classificato come prospetto da quattro stelle su cinque e nella top 100 nazionale, si iscrisse all'università scegliendo di giocare nella NCAA con gli Auburn Tigers.[4][5][6] Nell'unica stagione con i Tigers passò l'annata come redshirt, potendo cioè allenarsi con la squadra ma non scendere in campo.

UCF Knights

Hunter decise di trasferirsi e giocare per gli UCF Knights, dove nella prima annata partecipò a 13 partite siglando 17 tackle.[7] Nel 2023 ricevette una menzione onorevole dalla Big 12 Conference, dopo aver terminato la stagione con 69 tackle, di cui 11 con perdita di yard e 3 sack.[8] Nella stagione 2024 totalizzò 45 tackle ed un sack, venendo inserito nella seconda formazione ideale della Big 12.[9]

Texas Tech

Hunter, per l'ultima stagione nel football collegiale, decise di trasferirsi e giocare per i Texas Tech Red Raiders[10], facendo registrare 30 tackle, 2,5 sack ed un fumble forzato in 12 incontri disputati.

Carriera professionistica

Carolina Panthers

Hunter venne selezionato dai Carolina Panthers nel corso del secondo giro (49º assoluto) del Draft NFL 2026.[11]
