Hedj-Hor (... – ...) è stato un sovrano egizio predinastico, attestato da nomi in serekht rinvenuti a Tura e nel Delta del Nilo orientale.[1][1]

Titolatura

Il nome del sovrano è attestato nei serekht nella forma hdw-hr, letta da Ronald J. Leprohon come Hedju-Hor.[1]

Attestazioni

Leprohon colloca Hedju-Hor in una linea di sovrani contemporanea alla sequenza da Iry-Hor a Narmer, attestata da nomi in serekh rinvenuti in vari siti.[1]

Per questa linea di sovrani non sono note tombe.[1]

Per Hedju-Hor lo stesso autore segnala attestazioni a Tura e nel Delta orientale.[1]

Identificazione

Benché talvolta vi sia stata confusione con altri sovrani, nelle opere egittologiche di riferimento Hedj-Hor è trattato separatamente da Scorpione.[1][2] Il British Museum Dictionary of Ancient Egypt definisce infatti Scorpion come nome portato da due sovrani protodinastici, uno dei quali forse sepolto nella tomba U-j di Umm el-Qa'ab, e giudica improbabile che il proprietario di U-j coincida con il sovrano raffigurato sulla Mazza dello Scorpione.[2]
