Efton Chism III (Kirkland, 26 ottobre 2001) è un allenatore di football americano statunitense che milita nel ruolo di wide receiver per i New England Patriots della National Football League (NFL).

Carriera universitaria

Al college Chism giocò a football alla Eastern Washington University dal 2020 al 2024. Nelle prime due stagioni fece registrare 87 ricezioni per 1.075 yard e 12 touchdown in 21 partite per gli Eagles.[1] Nel 2022 disputò dieci gare come titolare, terminando con 62 ricezioni per 607 yard e 6 marcature.[2] Nel 2023 ricevette 84 passaggi per 932 yard e 8 touchdown,[3] venendo inserito nella terza formazione FCS All-American.[4] Nella prima gara della stagione 2024 mise a referto 12 ricezioni per 173 yard e 3 touchdown nella vittoria su Monmouth.[5] Nella settimana 12 ebbe 12 ricezioni per 157 yard e un touchdown nella vittoria su Idaho State.[6] Nell’ultimo turno della stagione regolare stabilì il record dell’istituto per ricezioni in una stagione, battendo il primato di Cooper Kupp.[7] Chiuse l’annata con 120 ricezioni per 1.311 yard e 13 touchdown, venendo premiato come All-American.[8] A fine anno annunciò l’intenzione di passare tra i professionisti, accettando di partecipare all’Hula Bowl 2025 e all’East-West Shrine Bowl 2025.[9]

Carriera professionistica

New England Patriots

Dopo non essere stato scelto nel Draft NFL 2025, Chism firmò con i New England Patriots,[10] dopo essere stato cercato anche dai Denver Broncos.[11] I Patriots gli assegnarono un bonus alla firma di 25.000 dollari e 239.000 dollari in salario garantito. I 259.000 dollari che ricevette furono più di quanto ricevettero le scelte del settimo giro di New England quell’anno.[11] Dopo una pre-stagione positiva, in cui ricevette 12 passaggi per 121 yard e 2 touchdown, riuscì a entrare nei 53 uomini del roster per l’inizio della stagione regolare.[12]
