Cymothooidea
Cymothooidea Leach, 1818 è una superfamiglia di crostacei ascritta all'ordine degli Isopodi.[1]
Questa superfamiglia forma un gruppo tassonimico di famiglie che presentano un gradiente che va dal commensalismo e dalla micropredazione nelle famiglie Corallanidae, Aegidae e Tridentellidae, al parassitismo obbligato nei Cymothoidae.[2]
Questi ultimi sono affini ai Corallanidae, in quanto generalmente considerati parassiti dei pesci ossei, al contrario delle specie del genere Tachaea, ritenute ectoparassite dei gamberetti, con alcune specie che vivono in commensalismo con i poriferi.[2]
