Blue Morpho è il secondo album in studio solista del chitarrista dei Radiohead Ed O'Brien, pubblicato il 22 maggio 2026 dalla Transgressive Records. È stato prodotto da Paul Epworth e Riley MacIntyre. O'Brien ha registrato Blue Morpho in Galles e a Londra, in seguito a un periodo di depressione.

Pubblicazione

O'Brien ha annunciato Blue Morpho il 17 marzo 2026, contestualmente all'uscita del primo singolo omonimo, Blue Morpho. Questo album rappresenta il primo pubblicato con il nome vero dell'artista perché Earth (il precedente album) fu pubblicato sotto il nome di EOB.[1]

Blue Morpho è accompagnato da un cortometraggio, *Blue Morpho: The Three Act Play*, presentato in anteprima a marzo al festival cinematografico statunitense South by Southwest. O'Brien ha in programma di avviare un tour europeo nell'ottobre del 2026, con il supporto di Eska e Okumu.[2]

Recensioni

Su NME, Andrew Trendell ha scritto che Blue Morpho rappresentava "il suono della guarigione, con Ed O'Brien uscito dal suo bozzolo e in volo abbagliante".[3] Su Clash, Tom Morgan ha scritto che "O'Brien sfoggia un approccio del tutto privo di inibizioni all'arrangiamento della musica rock e pop, dando vita a opere che si muovono e crescono come i mattoni della vita stessa". Pitchfork lo ha definito "un seguito molto più sicuro e coeso" rispetto a Earth.[4]
