La 1. Līga 2014 è stata la 23ª edizione della seconda divisione del Campionato lettone di calcio dalla ritrovata indipendenza. Il Gulbene ha vinto il campionato, ottenendo la promozione in massima serie.

Stagione

Novità

Il campionato era composto da 16 squadre, come dalla stagione precedente, ma in questa stagione le formazioni riserve giocavano un campionato a parte: pertanto, rispetto alla stagione precedente nessuna delle sette formazioni riserve fu ammessa. Inoltre la retrocessa Ilūkstes NSS non si iscrisse

Delle due promosse dalla 2. Līga solo il Saldus si iscrisse, per cui furono ripescate sei squadre.

Formula

Le sedici squadre partecipanti si affrontavano in turni di andata e ritorno per un totale di 30 incontri per squadra. La formazione prima classificata era promossa in Virslīga 2015, la seconda effettuava uno spareggio con la nona (penultima) di Virslīga 2014. La squadra classificata all'ultimo posto veniva retrocessa.

Erano assegnati tre punti per la vittoria, uno per il pareggio e zero per la sconfitta. In caso di arrivo in parità si teneva conto della classifica avulsa.
