Satu Sisi Satu Negara

Doktrin Satu Sisi Satu Negara (Hanzi sederhana: 一边一国; Hanzi tradisional: 一邊一國; Pinyin: yī biān yī guó) adalah konsep yang dibuat oleh Presiden Republik Taiwan Chen Shui-bian mengenai Status politik Taiwan. Ia menyatakan bahwa Republik Rakyat Tiongkok dan Republik Taiwan adalah dua negara yang berbeda, bukannya dua entitas dalam satu "negara Tiongkok".

Sejarah

Chen menggunakan istilah tersebut dalam konferensi Federasi Dunia Asosiasi Taiwan di Tokyo pada 3 Agustus 2000, dimana ia menyatakan perlu diperjelas bahwa "ketika Taiwan dan Tiongkok bersisian di Selat Taiwan, keduanya adalah negara berdaulat".^[1] Pernyataannya yang dibuat dalam bahasa Hokkien, bukannya bahasa Mandarin, mengundang kritikan dari media Tiongkok daratan. Amerika Serikat juga menyayangkan konsep tersebut, karena dianggap melenceng dari komitmen Chen sebelumnya mengenai "Empat Tidak dan Satu Tanpa".^[2]
