Pantai Samcheok

Samcheok (삼척시) adalah sebuah kota yang terletak di provinsi Gangwon, Korea Selatan.[1] Kota ini terletak di dataran yang berada antara sisi timur pegunungan Taebaek dan pesisir Laut Timur.[1] Kota ini memiliki pelabuhan alami serta objek wisata pantai yang berpasir putih.[1] Kota Samcheok merupakan daerah tujuan wisata yang populer pada musim panas, terutama dikarenakan pemandangan pantai dan lautnya yang indah.[2]

Penduduk Samcheok sebagian besar bekerja sebagai nelayan, sehingga berbagai tangkapan hasil laut merupakan penghasilan utama masyarakat di kota tersebut.[1] Jenis tangkapan yang paling banyak adalah cumi-cumi dan berbagai jenis ikan.[1][3] Dua buah pelabuhan utama di Samcheok, yakni Jangho dan Imwon memiliki banyak kapal penangkap cumi-cumi.[1]

Pantai Chu-am

Chu-am adalah pantai yang berarti "bebatuan lilin", terdiri dari bebatuan yang berdiri tegak seperti lilin.[1] Pantai ini sering dikunjungi untuk melihat pemandangan matahari terbit dari Laut Timur.[1] Pantai ini digabungkan ke kota Donghae pada tahun 1980 dan tidak lagi menjadi wilayah Samcheok.[1]

Jukseoru dan Osip-cheon

Jukseoru adalah sebuah pendopo beringkat dua yang berusia 800 tahun yang didirikan di sisi aliran sungai Osip-cheon.[1] Pendopo yang didirikan sejak masa Dinasti Goryeo ini adalah Harta Nasional Korea Selatan No.213.[1] Jukseoru bermakna "Pendopo di Sebelah Barat Hutan Bambu".[1] Dikelilingi pepohonan dan rumpun bambu, dari jukseoru dapat disaksikan aliran Osipcheon.[1] Osipcheon (makna harfiah: "sungai lima puluh") adalah aliran sungai yang panjangnya 50 km yang melewati Samcheok dan bermuara ke Laut Timur.[1] Jukseoru adalah salah satu dari Gwandong Palgyeong.[4]

Hwanseon-gul

Hwanseon-gul atau Gua Hwanseon adalah gua batu kapur terbesar di Korea.[1][5] Dari keseluruhannya, baru 55 gua yang berhasil dipetakan.[1] Sejak dibuka pada tahun 1997, Gua Hwanseon telah menjadi tujuan wisata baru.[1] Pada tahun 2002, kota Samcheok menyelenggarakan Samcheok World Cave Expo untuk memperkenalkan Gua Hwanseon kepada wisatawan internasional.[1]
