Pendudukan Estonia oleh Jerman Nazi

Pergerakan maju pasukan Jerman di Latvia, Estonia dan di garis depan Leningrad dari Juni hingga Desember 1941

Setelah Jerman Nazi menyerbu Uni Soviet pada 22 Juni 1941, Grup Angkatan Darat Utara tiba di Estonia pada bulan Juli. Awalnya sebagian besar orang-orang Estonia menganggap Jerman sebagai pembebas dari penindasan Uni Soviet.

Seminggu kemudian dimulai deportasi massal pertama dari negara-negara Baltik. Orang-orang Estonia segera menyadari bahwa Jerman Nazi juga penjajah seperti Soviet, meskipun mereka tetap berharap bisa kembali merdeka.

Jerman menjarah Estonia untuk tujuan perang mereka dan melancarkan Holokaus di Estonia, selama masa ini mereka dan kolaboratornya membunuh puluhan ribu orang (termasuk etnis Estonia, Yahudi Estonia, Gipsi Estonia, Estonia Rusia, tawanan perang Soviet, Orang Yahudi dan dari negara lainnya).[1]

Pada masa pendudukan, Estonia dimasukkan ke dalam provinsi Jerman yang dinamakan Ostland.
