Nikos Sampson

Níkos Sampsón (bahasa Yunani: Νίκος Σαμψών; 16 Desember 1935 – 9 Mei 2001) adalah seorang wartawan dan kemudian aktivis politik Siprus. Ia terlahir sebagai Níkos Gheorghiádis (bahasa Yunani: Νίκος Γεωργιάδης), tetapi kemudian mengubahnya menjadi Sampson menurut nama depan ayahnya.

Ia memulai kariernya sebagai wartawan Times of Cyprus. Ia merupakan anggota EOKA, dan sejak itulah ia mengganti marganya.

Pada tahun 1970, Sampson menjadi anggota Parlemen Siprus. Ia ikut serta dalam kudeta terhadap Uskup Agung Makários dan diangkat sebagai presiden selama 12 hari (15-23 Juli 1974). Pada tahun 1976, Sampson didakwa atas pengkhianatan dan dijatuhi hukuman penjara 20 tahun. Ia mendapatkan izin keluar negeri untuk perawatan kanker di Prancis. Setelah bebas dari penjara pada tahun 1992, ia kembali bekerja di dunia jurnalistik.
