Kunjung Mae adalah nama sebuah kelurahan di Kecamatan Mariso, Kota Makassar, Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan, Indonesia. Kelurahan ini memiliki luas wilayah 0,26 km², yang terdiri dari 33 RT dan 4 RW. Secara astronomis, kelurahan ini berada pada titik koordinat 5°09'00.20" LS dan 119°24'47.50" BT. Kantor kelurahan ini beralamat di Jl. Cendrawasih No. 19, Kota Makassar.[1]

Kronik nama

Kunjung Mae artinya mari berkunjung. Kelurahan Kunjung Mae berawal dari sebuah nama kampung yang bernama Kokolojia yang artinya "Koko" = ladang atau kebun dan "Lojia" = mercusuar. Di Kokolojia dahulu terdapat mercusuar sebagai penunjuk arah bagi pelaut-pelaut yang sementara belayar di sekitarnya. Kemudian di Kokolojia atau di Kunjung Mae terdapat areal perkebunan atau ladang milik masyarakat. Namun, lama-kelamaan areal perkebunan tersebut semakin berkurang seiring semakin bertambahnya penduduk yang menempati lahan tersebut dan membangun permukiman di atasnya. Dan ketika Kampung Kunjung Mae semakin padat dan ramai oleh penduduk, maka dibentuklah sebuah kelurahan yang dinamakan Kelurahan Kunjung Mae.[1]
