Kongres Umat Islam Indonesia

Kongres Umat Islam Indonesia (KUII) adalah sebuah pertemuan yang dihadiri oleh perwakilan dari organisasi-organisasi dan tokoh-tokoh Islam se-Indonesia.

Kongres pertama

Kongres umat Islam pertama kali digelar pada tahun 1945. Kala itu, kongres menghasilkan keputusan bahwa umat Islam dapat menyalurkan aspirasi politiknya melalui Masyumi.[1]

Kongres tahun 1998

Kongres Umat Islam Indonesia pada tahun 1998 dilaksanakan di Jakarta 3-7 November 1998 dengan tajuk "Umat Islam menyongsong era Indonesia baru" yang dihadiri sekitar 1.500 peserta.[2]

Kongres ke-VI

Majelis Ulama Indonesia menggelar Kongres Umat Islam ke-VI di Yogyakarta dengan tajuk “Penguatan Peran Politik, Ekonomi dan Sosial Budaya Umat Islam Untuk Indonesia Yang Berkeadilan dan Berperadaban” dihadiri oleh 775 undangan yang terdiri dari 700 orang peserta utusan dan 75 pemantau.[3] Kongres yang berlangsung pada 8-11 Februari 2015 tersebut dibuka oleh Wakil Presiden Jusuf Kalla, sedangkan panitia Acara diketuai oleh Dr. Anwar Abbas, M.M. Ketua MUI Din Syamsuddin menyatakan Kongres akan membicarakan peran umat Islam dalam kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara. Peran itu tak lepas dari kehidupan politik, ekonomi, dan budaya.[4]
