Kaiman moncong-lebar (Caiman latirostris) adalah sebuah genus kaiman pada famili Alligatoridae yang dapat ditemukan di Amerika Selatan bagian tengah dan timur, termasuk di habitat Pantanal di Bolivia, Brasil Tenggara, dan Paraguay, beserta di Argentina utara dan Uruguay.[4] Kaiman moncong-lebar menjadi spesies kaiman terbesar kedua, setelah kaiman hitam, serta menjadi spesies alligatorid terbesar ketiga setelah aligator amerika dan kaiman hitam. Umumnya spesies ini hidup di lahan basah air tawar, termasuk dataran banjir, rawa dan beberapa hutan mangrove, beserta di berbagai aliran air, sungai, danau dan kolam, lebih menyukai daerah perairan yang tak bergerak, atau bergerak dengan lambat.[5] Mereka juga biasa menggunakan kolam-kolam sapi buatan manusia, tempat minum ternak, kanal dan parit.[6]
