Jonathan Watts (lahir 28 Juni 1981)[1] adalah seorang sutradara film, produser dan penulis naskah asal Amerika Serikat. Karyanya termasuk menyutradarai film superhero Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, dan Spider-Man: No Way Home.[2] Dia juga menyutradarai dan menulis bersama film horor Clown dan film thriller Cop Car dan juga menyutradarai banyak episode dari serial parodi berita televisi Onion News Network. Kehidupan awal

Watts lahir pada 28 Juni 1981, dan dibesarkan di Fountain, Colorado, dimana dia bersekolah di Fountain-Fort Carson High School. Dia mempelajari film di New York University.[3]

Karir

Watts memulai karir sutradaranya dengan menyutradarai iklan untuk perusahaan produksi Park Pictures.[butuh rujukan]

Karir film Watts dimulai dengan film pendek Clay Pride: Being Clay in America. Watts sangat ingin menjadi sutradara film ini dan mengakui bahwa dia "mengganggu" Marvel dengan mengirimkan klip dari sebuah cuplikan palsu yang dia buat untuk film Spider-Man.[8] Dia mengakui bahwa dia sangat terkejut dan tidak mengetahui bahwa dia akan mendapatkan pekerjaan itu sampai saat terakhir.[9]

Watts kemudian menyutradarai sekuelnya di tahun 2019, Spider-Man: Far From Home. Dia dilaporkan menjadi lebih terikat dengan waralaba, bahkan mulai mengkoleksi banyak laba-laba langka.[10]
