Hope Davis
Hope Davis (lahir 23 Maret 1964) adalah pemeran berkebangsaan Amerika Serikat. Dia telah bermain di lebih dari 20 film, di antaranya Flatliners (1990), Next Stop Wonderland (1998), Arlington Road (1999), Mumford (1999), About Schmidt (2002), American Splendor (2003), Proof (2005), Infamous (2006), The Lodger (2009) dan Real Steel (2011). Untuk perannya dalam produksi Broadway berjudul God of Carnage pada tahun 2009, dia masuk nominasi Tony Award untuk kategori pemeran wanita terbaik. Dia juga dua kali dinominasikan di Emmy Award untuk perannya dalam drama seri In Treatment (2009), dan film televisi berjudul The Special Relationship, tahun 2010.[2][3][4][5][6]
Latar belakang
Davis menyelesaikan pendidikannya di bidang sains pada Vassar College. Dia memulai debutnya sebagai pemeran drama tahun 1990 dalam film Flatliners, memerankan sebagai tunangan William Baldwin. Kemudian dia tampil dalam film Home Alone memainkan peran kecil di resepsionis bandar udara di Paris. Selanjutnya dia membintangi film independen seperti The Daytrippers (1995) dan Next Stop Wonderland (1998). Pengalaman inilah yang mengantarkannya membintangi film Hollywood antara lain thriller Arlington Road (1999), dan About Schmidt (2002). Tahun 2003, Hope menjadi lawan main Paul Giamatti dalam film adaptasi komik Harvey Pekar American Splendor. Untuk peran itu, Davis Hope memenangi penghargaan New York Film Critics Circle dan dinominasikan dalam Golden Globe untuk kategori pemeran pembantu terbaik. Tahun 2009, dia mendapatkan peran sebagai Hillary Rodham Clinton dalam film produksi BBC/HBO berjudul The Special Relationship, yang dirilis pada tahun 2010.[7] Nama Davis juga tercatat pernah dinominasikan menerima penghargaan Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress – Miniseries or a Movie[8] atas perannya sebagai istri presiden Amerika Serikat itu.[9]
