"God's Not Dead (Like a Lion)" ("Allah Tidak Mati (Seperti Singa)") adalah single dari album God's Not Dead oleh Newsboys. Lagu ini muncul pada tangga lagu-lagu selama rilis pada tahun 2012. Lagu ini masuk tangga lagu lagi pada tahun 2014, setelah peluncuran film, God's Not Dead. Band ini menampilkan lagu tersebut, dalam suatu urutan konser, pada akhir film tersebut. Lagu ini dirilis melalui Inpop Records.[1]

Latar belakang

Lagu ini ditulis oleh Daniel Bashta.[2] Vokal utama dilakukan oleh Michael Tait dan menampilkan sesama anggota DC Talk, Kevin Max.[3][4]

Pertama kali dirilis sebagai single pada tanggal 12 Oktober 2011, yang memuncak pada peringkat ke-2 tanggal 9 Juni 2012[5] setelah melewatkan 22 minggu di Billboard tangga lagu-lagu Kristen Hot.[6] Kemudian masuk tanggal lagu lagi ketika film dengan nama yang sama dirilis pada tahun 2014.[7] Ini membantu mendorong "We Believe" ("Kami Percaya"), dari Restart, ke peringkat ke-2 pada tangga lagu.

Di Amerika Serikat, single ini mencapai penjualan emas di bulan Juni 2014,[8] dan pada bulan Mei 2015 menjadi single platinum pertama untuk band itu, setelah terjual lebih dari 1 juta.

Video musik

Video musik untuk lagu ini diterbitkan tanggal 6 Januari 2012.[9] Video dibuat di New York City, dan juga menunjukkan banyak pemandangan Sungai Hudson. Selama video, Newboys sendiri, bersama dengan orang-orang lain, membaca headline yang menyatakan: "God Is a Myth (Allah Adalah Mitos)". Dalam video tersebut, Newsboys terlihat tampil di sebuah konser, dalam tata letak sebuah studio kecil.
