Gaya Internasional adalah gaya arsitektur besar yang muncul pada 1920-an dan 1930-an, masa-masa pembentukan arsitektur modernis. Istilah ini berasal dari judul buku karya Henry-Russell Hitchcock dan Philip Johnson yang ditulis untuk mencatat International Exhibition of Modern Architecture yang diadakan di Museum of Modern Art di New York City tahun 1932. Buku itu mengidentifikasi, mengategorikan dan memperluas karakteristik umum tentang modernisme di seluruh dunia. Hasilnya, fokus lebih diperdalam pada aspek gaya modernisme. Tujuan Hitchcock dan Johnson adalah menetapkan gaya pada masa itu yang akan membentuk arsitektur modern.

Mereka mengidentifikasi tiga prinsip berbeda: ekspresi volume daripada massa, keseimbangan daripada simetri prasangka dan penghilangan ornamen bangunan. Semua karya yang dipamerkan sebagai bagian dari kegiatan tersebut secara hati-hati diseleksi, karena hanya karya yang memenuhi serangkaian persyaratan yang dipamerkan.[1] Penggunaan istilah ini sebelumnya dengan konteks yang sama dapat diberikan pada International Architektur oleh Walter Gropius dan Internationale neue Baukunst oleh Ludwig Hilberseimer.[2]
