Frits August Kakiailatu

Laksamana Pertama (Purn). dr. Frits August Kakiailatu S.Ked. Frits August Kakiailatu adalah anggota Tim Dokter Kepresidenan Republik Indonesia (1983-1999) pada masa Presiden Soeharto. Dia salah satu dokter yang dipercaya oleh Soeharto dan Keluarga Cendana, sebutan untuk keluarga penguasa Orde Baru itu.Untuk tergabung dalam tim dokter kepresidenan merupakan seorang dokterl.^[1]

Kehidupan pribadi dan karier militer

Frits, laki-laki kelahiran Magelang, Jawa Tengah, 17 Juli 1936. Sebagaimana dilansir Antara, Frits sempat bertugas sebagai dokter di Ksatrian Marinir, TNI Angkatan Laut sampai mendapatkan pangkat Brigadir Jenderal.

Frits mempunyai seorang istri bernama Toeti Soewarti yang bekerja sebagai wartawan senior TEMPO. Di tengah kesibukannya, Frits tetap aktif mengikuti simposium yang diadakan oleh Mayo Clinic, Amerika Serikat agar dapat selalu mengikuti kemajuan dalam penanggulangan kelainan seks pada kaum pria. Frits August Kakiailatu suka bermain tenis, renang, dan Jogging, serta gemar berkebun.

Pendidikan

Bertekad menjadi dokter karena dendam atas kematian ayahnya akibat sakit keras. Ia diterima di Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia. Mendapatkan beasiswa dari TNI-AL saat berada di tingkat III.^[2]

Keahlian kesehatan

Frits August Kakiailatu adalah seorang ahli urologi yang lebih tertarik pada masalah impotensi. Beliau menjelaskan tiga faktor penyebab lemah syahwat, yaitu: syaraf, vaskuler, dan psikis. Bagi pasien yang tidak mampu diatasi berdasarkan faktor-faktor tersebut, Frits menyarankan operasi penanaman Unflatable Penile Prosthesis. Operasi yang memakan biaya US$ 2.500 ini sudah berhasil dilakukan oleh dua puluh lima orang pasien dimana lima diantaranya adalah pasien lumpuh. Ia pernah mendapat protes dari salah satu pasien karena memberikan albumin saat pasien pemeluk Kristen sekte Yehova tersebut dioperasi.^[2]
