Fiat 6614

Fiat Type 6614 adalah kendaraan pengangkut personel lapis baja 4x4 roda yang dikembangkan perusahaan patungan antara Fiat dan Oto Melara Italia. Lambungnya terbuat dari baja yang dilas, dan kendaraannya amfibi. Prototipe pertama dibangun pada tahun 1972.^[1]^[2]

Lambung 6614 terbuat dari baja yang dilas dengan ketebalan seragam 8 mm; kursi pengemudi ada di bagian depan kendaraan di sebelah kiri dan dilengkapi dengan episkop yang memungkinkan pengamatan kendaraan di depan dan ke samping. Mesin dengan transmisi terletak di sisi kanan depan kendaraan untuk memberikan ruang sebanyak mungkin untuk tim tentara yang diangkut di belakang, dilengkapi dengan palka untuk pendaratan / embarkasi. Blindo dapat dipersenjatai dengan turret sederhana (yang dapat dilipat untuk memfasilitasi transportasi strategis) yang dioperasikan secara manual (sama dengan VCC-1 Camillino) yang dilengkapi dengan senapan mesin berat 12,7 mm. Ada juga yang memiliki palka di tengah kendaraan dan ada celah samping dan belakang yang dilengkapi dengan ekstraktor asap dari kompartemen pertempuran, yang memungkinkan penggunaan senjata pribadi secara aman oleh personel yang diangkut. Di setiap sisi turret akhirnya ada instalasi untuk tiga peluncur granat tipe kabut yang dioperasikan secara elektrik.

Fitur khusus yang membedakan media ini adalah kemampuannya untuk bertindak sebagai media amfibi. Daya dorong di dalam air disediakan oleh gerakan yang diciptakan oleh roda, sedangkan daya apungnya dimungkinkan berkat bentuk kendaraan dan sambungan yang membuatnya tahan air. Karena kemampuannya yang amfibi, Fiat 6614 bisa sangat berguna dalam misi penyelamatan dan keadaan darurat seperti bencana alam, dan untuk itu masih dalam dinas.

Varian Type 6616 adalah versi dari Type 6614 yang menggabungkan turret yang dipersenjatai dengan autocannon 20mm. Turret dirancang, dibangun, dan dipasang oleh OTO Melara.

KM900 adalah versi Fiat 6614 yang diproduksi di bawah lisensi oleh Asia Motors untuk digunakan oleh Angkatan Darat Republik Korea. Diharapkan KM900 akan dihapus secara bertahap dengan pengenalan KNAV (KW1 Scorpion).
