David Hay Fleming, LL. D. (1849–1931) seorang sejarawan dan ahli purbakala asal Skotlandia .

Biografi

Fleming berasal dari St Andrews, sebuah kota universitas di Fife Timur dan mengenyam pendidikan di sekolah menengah Madras College. Keluarganya memiliki bisnis porselen dan periuk, yang kemudian ia jual pada tahun 1883 untuk memusatkan perhatian pada minatnya.[1]

Dalam wasiatnya, ia meninggalkan uang untuk mendirikan perpustakaan Hay Fleming Reference. Koleksi tersebut merupakan warisan untuk kota St Andrews, pada tahun 1932, dari perpustakaan Fleming, dan terdiri dari sekitar 13.000 jilid.

Cucunya adalah sejarawan dan ekonom David Fleming.[2]
