Dahab (دهب) adalah sebuah desa kecil yang terletak di pantai tenggara Semenanjung Sinai di Mesir. Sebelumnya dikenal sebagai perkampungan nelayan Suku Badui, pembangunan hotel-hotel internasional dan fasilitas hiburan lain telah membuat Dahab menjadi tujuan populer para wisatawan. Bandar udara terdekat terletak di Sharm el-Sheikh.

Alasan yang membuat Dahab terkenal di kalangan para wisatawan meliputi:

  • Dahab terkenal di dunia karena tempat berselancarnya.
  • Dahab merupakan tempat ideal untuk melakukan aktivitas SCUBA diving dan snorkelling, dengan batu karangnya yang dekat dengan hotel-hotel tepi pantai. Daerah sekitar Blue Hole dan Canyon merupakan tempat menyelam terkenal di dunia.
  • Restoran seafood banyak berjejer di sepanjang tepian pantai daerah wisatawan di pusat kota Masbet yang menyediakan masakan seafood panggang ala suku Badui.
  • Gunung Sinai dapat dicapai dengan berkendara selama 2 jam, wisatawan dapat menyaksikan matahari terbit dan terbenam di puncak gunungnya.
  • Sebelumnya, sebagian besar pengunjung kota Dahab adalah wisatawan bertas ransel yang tinggal di penginapa di daerah Masbet. Beberapa tahun terakhir, pembangunan hotel di daerah Medina (bukan Madinah) membuat banyak wisatawan yang lebih kaya berdatangan ke Dahab, di mana sebagian besar dari mereka datang khusus untuk berselancar, menyelam, dan hal-hal lain.

Serangan bom 2006

Pada tanggal 24 April 2006 pukul 19:15 waktu setempat, 3 buah bom di kawasan wisatawan di Dahab membunuh 23 orang dan melukai 70 lainnya. Ledakan ini adalah kelanjutan dari ledakan yang terjadi sebelumnya di kawasan Semenanjung Sinai, khususnya di Sharm el-Sheikh dan di Taba dalam 2 tahun sebelumnya. Menurut kantor berita Reuters, ledakan terjadi di 2 buah restoran (Aladdin dan Nelson) dan di supermarket Ghazala.[1]
