DJ Magazine (juga dikenal sebagai DJ Mag) adalah majalah bulanan Inggris yang didedikasikan untuk musik dansa elektronik dan DJ.[2]

Sejarah

Versi awal dari majalah ini muncul menjelang akhir 1980-an, ketika itu dikenal sebagai Disc Jockey Magazine. Nama tersebut kemudian diubah menjadi Jocks Magazine,[3] tetapi majalah ini mengalami re-branding tak lama kemudian. Setelah itu, edisi pertama DJ Magazine diluncurkan pada pertengahan tahun 1991;[3] awalnya diproduksi sebagai publikasi mingguan dengan Chris Mellor sebagai editor pertamanya.[3] Pada tahun 1992, majalah ini memutuskan untuk beralih ke penerbitan dua mingguan karena meningkatnya beban kerja yang terjadi hingga tahun 2008.[3] Selama dua tahun pertama, staf editorial majalah memilih DJ of the Year versi mereka:[3] awalnya berupa daftar pendek, kemudian diperluas menjadi daftar Top 100 yang pertama kali muncul di edisi ke-100 majalah pada tanggal 21 Oktober 1993.[3]

Sejak tahun 2005, majalah tersebut mulai memperluas terbitannya ke luar negeri dengan memasukkan tempat-tempat seperti Amerika Tengah dan Selatan, Jerman, Prancis, serta Spanyol.[3] Pada tahun 2006, DJ Magazine dijual kepada Future plc, salah satu perusahaan media terbesar di Inggris.[4]
