Culiacán adalah sebuah kota di barat laut Meksiko yang merupakan ibu kota dan kota terbesar di Sinaloa dan di Kotamadya Culiacán. Didirikan pada 29 September 1531 oleh penakluk Spanyol Lázaro de Cebreros dan Nuño Beltrán de Guzmán dengan nama Villa de San Miguel, yang merujuk pada santo pelindungnya, Michael the Archangel.

Terletak 1.240 km dari Mexico City, dari Culiacán ke Tepic, hanya ada 502 km; ke Durango, 536 km; ke Hermosillo, 688 km; ke Guadalajara, 708 km; ke Monterrey, 1.118 km; Chihuahua, 1.159 km; ke Tijuana, 1.552 km; dan ke Matamoros, 1.434 km.[2]
