Close adalah sebuah film drama Belgia berbahasa Prancis 2022 yang disutradarai oleh Lukas Dhont dari skenario arahan Dhont dan Angelo Tijssens, bergabung kembali setelah film pertama mereka Girl. Dibintangi oleh Eden Dambrine, Gustav de Waele, Emilie Dequenne dan Léa Drucker.

Tayang perdana di Festival Film Cannes 2022,[1] pada tanggal 26 Mei 2022, dan berhasil memenangkan Grand Prix. Dirilis di Lumière di Benelux oleh Diaphana Distribution di Prancis, dan A24 di Amerika Serikat.

Alur Cerita

Film Close bercerita tentang dua remaja laki-laki bernama Léo dan Rémi yang memiliki persahabatan yang sangat dekat. Mereka sering tidur di tempat tidur yang sama, dan mereka tidak ragu untuk menunjukkan kasih sayang mereka satu sama lain.

Namun, persahabatan mereka mulai terancam ketika teman-teman sekolah mereka mulai mempertanyakan hubungan mereka. Mereka mulai bertanya apakah mereka berpacaran, dan Léo menjadi tidak nyaman dengan perhatian ini.

Léo takut di-bully atau dikucilkan, jadi dia mulai menjauhkan diri dari Rémi. Dia mulai menghabiskan lebih banyak waktu dengan teman-teman barunya, dan dia mulai bermain ice hockey. Dia juga mulai tidur di kamarnya sendiri.

Rémi mencoba untuk mendekatkan diri dengan Léo, tetapi Léo menolaknya. Keengganan Léo untuk menerima persahabatan mereka menyebabkan keretakan di antara mereka.

Suatu hari, Rémi ditemukan tewas di kamarnya. Dia telah bunuh diri. Léo merasa sangat bersalah atas kematian Rémi. Dia percaya bahwa dia adalah penyebabnya. Dia mulai mengalami depresi, dan dia sulit untuk menghadapi kematian Rémi. [2]
