Bulan Oka


Ida Ayu Bulan Oka, kelahiran Denpasar 8 Juli 1975, adalah seorang seniman dan pelukis wanita yang berasal dari Bali. Karya Bulan Oka sangat khas dengan penuangan titik, garis, serta sketsa yang tegas, senantiasa menunjukkan ketelitian, ketelatenan, serta kesabarannya sebagai seorang seniman.[1] Lukisan dan hasil seninya sering dinilai masuk dalam aliran naïf, dekoratif-figuratif yang menyuguhkan realitas kehidupan, tidak sebagai terror ataupun horror, tapi dalam bentuk catatan indah yang sarat kritik.[2]

Karier

Bulan Oka telah beberapa kali menyelenggarakan pameran tunggal termasuk: Bulan’s Cheerful and Spontaneous World (2007) di Danes Art Veranda[pranala nonaktif permanen], serta Embracing Time (2014) di Griya Santrian Gallery. Selain pameran tunggal, Bulan Oka juga sering terlibat dalam pameran-pameran kolektif di Jimbaran, Sanur, Nusa Dua, dan Jakarta.

Embracing Time (2014)

Dalam pameran keduanya di Sanur, Bulan Oka menyuguhkan 60 karya sketch, drawing, dan lukisan di Santrian Gallery, Sanur. Karyanya banyak terinspirasi dari pengalamannya sebagai seorang wanita Bali yang banyak bersentuhan dengan dinamika peradaban modern yang hiruk pikuk. Pengalaman visual tersebut kemudian dituangkan dalam karya rupa dan lukis yang artistic. “Embracing Time, menimang waktu, sebagai jeda untuk member ruang untuk member dan mengambil sebuah nilai.”[1]

Bulan Oka banyak menggunakan charcoal diatas media kertas sebagai media seni. Banyak simbolisme dan identitas Bali yang ditemukan seperti Barong, persembahyangan di pura, arsitektur, busana, dan keluarga. Begitupun dengan beberapa binatang yang seperti gajah, sapi, burung, dan naga yang digunakan sebagai simbolisme kehidupan.[2]

Kehidupan Pribadi

Bulan Oka merupakan putri dari mantan Gubernur Bali (alm) Prof. Dr. Ida Bagus Oka dan Ida Ayu Asia Wati.[3]
