Badan Otorita Borobudur (BOB) adalah lembaga pemerintah yang bertanggung jawab untuk mengelola dan mempromosikan pariwisata, warisan budaya, dan pembangunan ekonomi berkelanjutan di sekitar Situs Warisan Dunia UNESCO, Candi Borobudur, dan wilayah sekitarnya. Dibentuk pada tahun 2018, BOB merupakan realisasi dari Peraturan Presiden tentang Pembentukan Badan Otorita Pariwisata Borobudur. Selain mengawasi Candi Borobudur, beberapa wilayah termasuk Magelang, Yogyakarta, Surakarta, Salatiga, dan Semarang, berada di bawah kewenangan badan tersebut.[2]

Sebagai bagian dari strategi pemerintah untuk memposisikan Candi Borobudur sebagai "Destinasi Pariwisata Super Prioritas",[3] Badan Otorita Borobudur telah mengembangkan kawasan pariwisata eksklusif seluas 309 hektar yang diberi nama Kawasan Otorita Borobudur. Terletak di Kabupaten Purworejo, Jawa Tengah,[4] kawasan pengembangan tersebut dibuat dengan tiga tujuan utama: meningkatkan pariwisata, menarik investasi asing, dan merangsang ekonomi lokal.[3]
