"April" adalah sebuah lagu yang diciptakan dan dinyanyikan oleh Mondo Gascaro, serta merupakan singel ketiga Mondo Gascaro.

Latar belakang

Dalam sebuah liputan, Mondo Gascaro mengatakan bahwa ia menulis singel tersebut untuk merayakan bulan April yang dianggapnya sebagai bulan yang penuh harapan, serta sebagai peringatan lima tahun pernikahannya dengan Sarah Glandosch pada bulan April 2013.[1][2] Pembuatan lagu dimulai pada akhir bulan Maret dan dirilis pada tanggal 18 April 2018,[1] dengan tema lagu menceritakan tentang "janji kepada pasangan serta keyakinan menghadapi apapun yang terjadi di kemudian hari".[3]

Tanggapan

Singel tersebut mendapatkan tanggapan yang positif dari berbagai media. Berbagai ulasan menyebut bahwa lagu tersebut terdengar "puitis", tetapi tanpa terdengar sebagai lagu ungkapan cinta yang gamblang.[2][3][4] Agustinus Shindu Alpito dari Medcom.id mengulas bahwa lagu "April" terdengar "riang" disertai dengan sentuhan musik Brazil namun tetap memiliki ciri lagu Mondo Gascaro.[1] Carla Thurmanita dari Whiteboard Journal mengatakan bahwa musik dari lagu itu terdengar "hangat" dengan lirik yang "manis", meskipun tidak terdengar semegah lagu-lagu Mondo Gascaro sebelumnya.[5]
