Ahikam

Ahikam (bahasa Ibrani: אחיקם, "Saudaraku telah bangkit") adalah nama laki-laki dalam bahasa Ibrani. Dikenal sebagai salah satu dari pejabat tinggi pada pemerintahan Yosia, raja Yehuda, sekitar abad ke-7 SM. Namanya disebutkan beberapa kali dalam Alkitab Ibrani dan bagian Perjanjian Lama dalam Alkitab Kristen, termasuk mengenai putranya, Gedalya.

Riwayat

Ahikam adalah salah satu dari lima orang yang diutus oleh raja Yosia untuk meminta nasihat dari nabiah Hulda dalam kaitan dengan penemuan kembali kitab Taurat Musa di Bait Allah, Yerusalem.[1] Ayahnya adalah Safan, panitera negara yang menjadi orang kepercayaan raja Yosia. Putranya, Gedalya, diangkat menjadi gubernur Yehuda oleh Nebukadnezar II, raja Babel, setelah kehancuran Yerusalem oleh tentara Babel.[2]

Pada suatu peristiwa, Ahikam mengambil tindakan yang disebut "penahanan perlindungan" (protective custody) oleh Jonathan Magonet[3] untuk melindungi nabi Yeremia dari amukan massa yang mendukung raja Yoyakim[4][5]

Bulla Gemarya bin Safan (Bulla Safan)

Dalam penggalian di Kota Daud yang dipimpin oleh arkeolog Israel, Yigal Shiloh, sejumlah bulla diketemukan pada stratum X, yang memuat bekas-bekas kehancuran oleh tentara Babel sekitar tahun 586 SM. Bulla 2 berbunyi: milik Gemaryahu ben Shaphan. Shiloh beranggapan bahwa Gemaryahu pada bulla ini dapat diidentifikasi dengan "Gemarya bin Safan sang panitera" yang disebut dalam teks Alkitab (Yeremia 36:10-12), seorang tokoh pada masa pemerintahan raja Yoyakim (memerintah tahun 609-598 SM).[12]
