1983 adalah seri web televisi kriminal asal Polandia yang dibuat dan ditulis oleh Joshua Long, berdasarkan ide orisinal Joshua dan Maciej Musiał. Seri ini bercerita tentang alternatif waktu saat jatuhnya Republik Rakyat Polandia komunis tidak pernah terjadi dan tirai besi masih ada.[1][2] Seri ini merupakan seri orisinal Netflix pertama Polandia yang terdiri dari 8 episode dan dirilis pada 30 November 2018.[3]

Premis

Seri ini berlatar pada tahun 2003 dan bercerita tentang serangan teroris yang terkoordinasi di beberapa lokasi di Polandia pada 1983 yang mengubah jalannya sejarah. Akibatnya, tirai besi masih ada dan perang dingin tidak pernah berakhir. Mahasiswa hukum Kajetan (Maciej Musiał) dan penyelidik Milicja Obywatelska Anatol (Robert Więckiewicz) mengungkap konspirasi yang berpotensi memulai revolusi.

Produksi

Pada 6 Maret 2018, Netflix mengumumkan bahwa 1983 telah dalam tahap produksi dan terdiri dari 8 episode.[5] Pada 2 Oktober 2018, setelah trailer pertama dirilis, seri ditayangkan secara global untuk pertama kalinya pada 30 November.[3] Rencananya, seri ini akan berlanjut ke musim kedua.[6]
