Cynewulf vagy Cynwulf[1] (angolszászul: CYNEVVLF VVESTSEAXNA CYNING), (? – 786[2]) Wessex királya 757-től haláláig.

Elődje, Sigeberht megbuktatása után került a trónra.[2] Állandóan harcban állt a walesiekkel.[2] 779-ben vereséget szenvedett a merciai Offától aki elragadta tőle Bensingtont is.[2] 786-ban rajtaütött Martennál (ma Wiltshire) Cyneheard, a megbuktatott Sigeberht fivére, és lemészárolta a vele együtt lévő thánokkal együtt.[2]

Házassága

Beorhtric felesége, Cynetryht,[1] Essexi Sigeric leánya,[1] valószínűleg nem szült gyermeket férjének.
