Ruyschia, botanički rod iz porodice vrjesovki. Pripada mu 10 vrsta rasprostranjenih od južnog Meksika na jug do Bolivije.[1] Ime roda Ruyschia dano je u čast Frederika Ruyscha (1638. – 1731.), nizozemskog botaničara i anatoma.

Opis

Tropske cvjetnice (često grmovi ili lijane). Rasprostranjenost: Porijeklom iz Srednje i Južne Amerike, posebno u tropskim kišnim šumama. Imenovao ga je botaničar Nikolaus Joseph von Jacquin. Karakteristike su da rastu kao drvenaste penjačice ili grmovi. Imaju jednostavne, kožaste listove. Proizvode male cvjetove, često povezane sa strukturama koje proizvode nektar i privlače oprašivače (poput ptica ili kukaca). Prilagođene su vlažnim tropskim okruženjima.
