Opis
Pimentinae je podpleme (rang ispod plemena) cvjetnica. Formalno ga je opisao botaničar Otto Karl Berg (otuda i naziv „O. Berg“). Ova skupina uključuje rodove blisko povezane s rodom Pimentom. Ključne karakteristike u ovom podplemenu su da pripadaju tropskim regijama, posebno u Americi. Imaju aromatične listove bogate eteričnim uljima. Proizvode bobice ili plodove slične koštunicama, Značajan primjer je Pimenta dioica - izvor pimenta, začina koji ima okus mješavine cimeta, muškatnog oraščića i klinčića.[1]
