Opis
Norantea guianensis je tropska biljka iz porodice Marcgraviaceae koju je opisao opisao Jean Baptiste Christophore Fusée Aublet. Ova vrsta ima listove čiji je vrh šiljast ili tup, dok je baza klinasta ili također šiljasta. Listovi su najčešće eliptičnog ili obrnuto jajolikog (obovatnog) oblika. Cvatovi su mnogocvjetni, a nektariji su karakteristično narančaste do crvenkaste boje, što pomaže u privlačenju oprašivača.[2]
Habit i stanište
Norantea guianensis je drvenasta penjačica (lijana), odnosno biljka koja se ovija i penje uz druge biljke. Može rasti kao hemiepifit (dio života provodi kao epifit na drugim biljkama), ali i kao kopnena (terestrična) biljka. Prirodno stanište su vlažne tropske šume, gdje raste u sloju vegetacije od tla do krošnji.[2]
