Levieria, rod drveća i grmova iz porodice boldovki. Izvorno područje rasprostranjenosti ovog roda je od Sulawesija do Nove Gvineje i sjeveroistočne Australije.[1]

Ime

Ime roda je posveta: Levieria je nazvana u čast Emilija Leviera / Emilio Levier (1839.–1911.), švicarsko-talijanskog botaničara, mikologa i sakupljača biljaka u Firenci. Rod je prvi opisao Beccari 1877. u djelu Malesia.[2]

Opis

Levieria Becc. je rod biljaka iz porodice Monimiaceae, reda Laurales. Obuhvaća dvodomne grmove i stabla, rjeđe lijane, rasprostranjene u području od Sulawesija i Moluka preko Nove Gvineje do sjeveroistočne Australije. Listovi su jednostavni, bez palistića, nasuprotni, cjelovita ili nazubljena ruba, papirasti do tanko kožasti. Cvjetovi su jednospolni. Plodovi su koštunice smještene na povećanom cvjetnom receptakulu. U Australiji je rod zastupljen vrstom Levieria acuminata, koja dopire do sjeveroistočnog Queenslanda. [2]
