Lachemilla, biljni rod opisan 1908. kojemu pripadaju američke vrste vrkute ili gospinog plašta. Za klasičnu europsku Alchemillu vrijedi: uglavnom hladnije područje Europe i Azije. Ima prizemne lepezaste listove, sitne zelenkaste cvjetove, često guste jastučiće po planinama i livadama i da je jako sklona apomiksiji (bezbrojne mikrovrste)[1]

Lachemilla je uglavnom srednjoamerička i južnoamerička grupa, posebno Ande. Često mnogo raznolikijeg oblika, neke vrste puzaju, neke su gotovo drvenaste, neke izgledaju sasvim drugačije od tipične europske vrkute.[1]

Molekularna istraživanja pokazala su da “stara” široka Alchemilla nije bila dobra prirodna skupina. Zato su izdvojeni rodovi poput: Lachemilla, Aphanes, Farinopsis, dok je uža Alchemilla ostala uglavnom euroazijska grupa.[1]

Najveći problem cijelog kompleksa je što su te biljke evolucijski sklone apomiksiji (razmnožavanje bez oplodnje), poliploidiji (vrsta kromosomske mutacije), stalnoj hibridizaciji, i postoji ogromna sitna varijabilnost. Zato neki botaničari vole široku Alchemilla, a drugi razbijaju kompleks na više rodova.[1]

Ime Lachemilla zapravo je anagram/skraćenica izvedena iz Alchemilla.
