Fagaropsis je rod grmova i drveća iz porodice Rutaceae. Prirodno područje rasprostranjenosti ovog roda je od Etiopije do južne tropske Afrike i Madagaskara.[1]
Morfologija
Fagaropsis je rod rutovki (Rutaceae), rasprostranjen u tropskoj i sjeveroistočnoj Africi. Obuhvaća listopadna stabla ili grmove bez trnova. Listovi su nasuprotni i neparno perasti.[2]
Cvatovi su vršne metlice koje izrastaju iz pupova na krajevima prošlogodišnjih grana, prije pojave novih lisnatih izbojaka ili istodobno s njima. Cvjetovi su funkcionalno jednospolni zbog zakržljavanja spolnih organa suprotnoga spola i najčešće su četveročlani. Čašku čine četiri pri osnovi srasla lapa, a latica je četiri, rijetko šest. Muški cvjetovi imaju šest do osam prašnika. U ženskih je cvjetova plodnica četvero- ili peterogradna.[2]
Plod je kuglast, mesnat i ne otvara se, a površina mu je žljezdasto-jamičasta. Obično sadrži četiri sjemenke. Jedina je prihvaćena vrsta Fagaropsis angolensis (Engl.) Dale.[2]
