Eritrofleum (lat. Erythrophleum), rod korisnog drveća iz tropske i južne Afrike, Madagaskara, sjeverne Australije, i od južne Kine do Indokine. Pripada porodici mahunarki. Naziv roda potječe od grčkih riječi erythros što znači 'crveno' i phloios, što znači 'kora drveća', odnosno 'crvena kora', a odnosi se na crveni sok koji proizvode neke afričke vrste. Nekoliko vrsta roda često se naziva crvenovodnim drvećem jer se crveni sok izlučuje kada se kora zareže i boji vodu u crveno.[1]

Opis

Erythrophleum je relativno mali rod u porodici mahunarki (Fabaceae) koji se sastoji od oko 10 vrsta koje su široko rasprostranjene u Africi, Australiji i Aziji. Biljke ovog roda dijele sljedeće karakteristike: jednostruka stabla s naizmjeničnim i dvostruko pernatim listovima; palistići (stipule) su vrlo mali i brzo otpadaju. Budući da ova stabla imaju vrlo tražena ljekovita svojstva i vrijedno drvo, sva su ugrožena prekomjernom eksploatacijom.[1]
