Dischistocalyx, biljni rod iz porodice primogovki smješten u podtribus Ruelliinae, dio tribusa Ruellieae, potporodica Acanthoideae. Postoji 12 afričkih vrsta u zapadnoj tropskoj Africi i južnoj Nigeriji[1] Opisan je u Genera Plantarum 2: 1080. 1876. [2]
Opis
Rod Dischistocalyx pripada porodici Acanthaceae. Rod cvjetnica (uglavnom grmovi ili zeljaste biljke) rasprostranjene po tropskoj Africi. Cvjetovi su često cjevasti, upadljivih boja (ljubičasti, crveni ili ružičasti), prilagođeni oprašivačima poput ptica i insekata. Listovi: nasuprotni, tipični za porodicu Acanthaceae. Oznaka “T.Anderson ex Benth.” znači da je Thomas Anderson prvi opisao rod, ali ga je službeno objavio George Bentham.
