Chydenanthus, monotipski bilji rod iz porodice Lecythidaceae. Jedina vrsta je C. excelsus u tropskom biomu Azije.[1] Dio je potporodice Barringtonioideae.
Opis
Srednje veliko do veliko drvo rasprostranjeno u jugoistočnoj Aziji (Indonezija, Malezija, Filipini). Značajke. Listovi: veliki, jednostavni. Cvjetovi: viseći, upadljivi. Plod: karakterističan, drvenast. Ekološki: tipična vrsta tropskih kišnih šuma. Ova vrsta jedini je predstavnik roda Chydenanthus, i poznata po toksičnim svojstvima – sjemenke se tradicionalno koriste kao otrov (npr. za ribolov).[2]
