Amaranthoideae je potporodica štirovki,[1] pripada najveći broj rodova u porodici. Tribus Celosieae ima pet rodova.

Većina vrsta raste po tropskoj Americi i tropskoj i južnoj Africi i Australiji. Najvažniji rodovi su šćir ili amarant i kresta (Celosia).
