תה קר (או אייס תה; תה קרח) הוא סוג של משקה תה, המוגש כשהוא קר. המשקה יכול להיות מוגש כשהוא צונן או מקורר, גם בלא קרח, אם כי בדרך כלל הוא מוגש בכוס עם קוביות קרח. התה עשוי להיות מומתק על ידי סוכר, סירופ (בטעמים כמו לימון, פטל, ליים, שעונית נאכלת, אפרסק, תפוזים, תות שדה ודובדבן) או פרוסות תפוח.

קיים גם תה מוקפץ הנעשה לעיתים על ידי שטיפה ארוכה במיוחד של עלי תה בטמפרטורה נמוכה (שעה אחת בשמש במקום 5 דקות בטמפרטורה של 80–100 מעלות צלזיוס). תה זה מוכר גם בשם "תה השמש".

תה קר נחשב למשקה ארוז פופולרי.

היסטוריה

המתכונים המודפסים העתיקים ביותר לתה הקר הם משנות ה-70 של המאה ה-19. שני ספרי הבישול המוקדמים ביותר עם מתכונים להכנת תה קר הם מהשנים 1876 ו-1877.

תה קר החל להופיע בארצות הברית במהלך שנות ה-60 של המאה ה-19. בתחילת שנות ה-70 של המאה ה-19 הוא הפך לחידוש.[1] מתכונים הופיעו בהדפסה, תה קר היה מוצע בתפריטי בתי מלון, והוא היה נמכר בתחנות הרכבת.[2] הפופולריות שלו גדלה במהירות לאחר שריצ'רד בלצ'ינדן (אנ') הציג אותו ביריד העולמי של 1904 בסנט לואיס.[3]

הפופולריות של תה קר בארצות הברית הובילה תוספת ערכות סכו"ם לסטנדרט: כפית תה קר, שהיא כפית עם ידית ארוכה, ומתאימה לערבוב הסוכר בכוסות התה הקר הגבוהות.

התה הקר צבר פופולריות בעונת הקיץ.

כיום התה נפוץ ברוב המדינות בעולם, והוא מוגש בצורות ובטעמים שונים, המשתנים בין המדינות. בישראל קיימים מספר משקאות של תה קר, במותגים שונים ובטעמים שונים, המשווקים על ידי חברות למשקאות קלים; מהם מוכרים המשקאות FUZE tea ונסטי.
