קיר נושא עומס

קיר נושא עומס או קיר נושא הוא קיר המהווה רכיב מבני (אנ') פעיל במבנה, התומך את משקל הרכיבים שמעליו, ומעביר דרכו את משקלם בתוספת משקלו לרכיב התומך אותו עד יסודות המבנה מתחתיו ומשם אל הקרקע.

קירות נושאי עומס הם אחת מצורות הבנייה המוקדמות ביותר.^[1] הפיתוח של תמיכות דואות באדריכלות הגותית אפשרה למבנים לשמור על חלל פנימי פתוח, תוך העברת משקל רב יותר לתמיכה במקום לקירות נושאים מרכזיים. קתדרלת נוטרדאם היא דוגמה למבנה הבנוי בשיטת קירות נושאי עומס עם תמיכות דואות.^[2] קירות נושאי עומס נפוצים ביותר במבני מגורים הנבנים בשיטת הבנייה הקונבנציונלית. בראשית עידן גורדי השחקים, התבררו חסרונותיה של בנייה בשיטה זו. על מנת להעביר עומס כה רב ליסודות, על הקירות בקומות התחתונות להיות כה עבים עד שלא נשאר חלל פנימי לשימוש. כמו כן, פתיחת חלנות ודלתות מוגבלת בגודל. הודות לצמיחתה המואצת של תעשיית הפלדה, פותחה מערכת מסגרות פלדה נושאות מתאימה יותר להעברת עומסים, שתוכננה לראשונה על ידי ויליאם לה ברון ג'ני, והמגבלות של בניית קירות נושאי עומס בבניינים גדולים, הביאו לירידה בשימוש השיטה במבנים מסחריים בקנה מידה גדול.

קיר נושא עומס או קיר נושא הוא קיר המהווה רכיב מבני פעיל של בניין - כלומר, הוא נושא את משקלם של האלמנטים הנסמכים עליו על ידי העברת משקלם ליסודות המבנה.^[3] החומרים המשמשים לרוב לבניית קירות נושאי עומס בבניינים גדולים הם בטון, בלוקים (אנ') או לבנים. לעומת זאת, קיר מסך אינו מספק תמיכה מבנית משמעותית מעבר למה שדרוש כדי לשאת את משקלו העצמי או להעביר עומסי רוח לקיר נושא או רכיב מבני אחר.^[4]
