פריץ שטידרי (בגרמנית: Fritz Stiedry; ‏11 באוקטובר 1883, וינה - 8 באוגוסט 1968, ציריך) היה מנצח אוסטרי.

חייו

שטידרי היה סטודנט למשפטים באוניברסיטת וינה כאשר גוסטב מאהלר נתן דעתו על כשרונותיו המוזיקליים ומינה אותו לעוזרו באופרת החצר של וינה ב-1907. בהמשך למשרה זו באו משרות עוזר נוספות, שהובילו לכהונות ניצוח בבתי האופרה של קאסל ושל ברלין.

בשנת 1933 עזב שטידרי את גרמניה בתגובה לעליית היטלר לשלטון. משנת 1934 עד 1937 היה שטידרי מנצח ראשי בפילהרמונית של לנינגרד. שטידרי היה מעורב בחזרות לקראת ביצוע הבכורה של הסימפוניה הרביעית מאת שוסטקוביץ', אך הבכורה נדחתה מסיבות, השנויות עדיין במחלוקת. יש הטוענים, ששוסטקוביץ סבר, כי שטידרי איננו כשיר להתמודד עם מורכבויות הסימפוניה; לעומתם טוענים אחרים, כי בכירים במפלגה הקומוניסטית הפעילו על המלחין לחץ לבטל את ביצוע יצירתו.

בשנת 1937 עזב שטידרי את לנינגרד והיגר לארצות הברית. הוא עבד עם "תזמורת ידידי המוזיקה החדשים" בניו יורק, שם ניצח על יצירות נשכחות של באך, היידן ומוצרט והעלה בביצוע בכורה את הסימפוניה הקאמרית השנייה של שנברג. משנת 1945 ואילך חזר שטידרי לאופרה וניצח על האופרה הלירית של שיקגו ועל המטרופוליטן אופרה בניו יורק.
