ל. רוי האוק (באנגלית: L. Roy Houck;‏ 28 בינואר 1905 – 22 בנובמבר 1992) היה פוליטיקאי אמריקאי. בין השנים 1955–1959 היה סגן מושל מדינת דקוטה הדרומית.

ביוגרפיה

לא ידוע דבר על ילדותו ולימודיו של האוק. בהמשך עבד כחוואי וכמגדל בקר. חוות הבקר שלו בעמק נהר מיזורי נהרסה בידי חיל ההנדסה של צבא ארצות הברית,[1] ובשנת 1959 האדמה הוצפה על ידי סכר והוא העתיק את מקומה של החווה שלו למקומה הנוכחי. הוא הקים את "חוות UUU", שם גידל ביזונים ובקר, ולאחר מות מרבית הבקר בשלג קשה, התמקד בביזונים בלבד.[1] לימים הייתה חוותו, ששטחה 240 מיליון מטרים רבועים,[1] למקום הגידול הגדול בעולם של ביזונים. הוא מכר את עורן, בשרן וגם את גולגולות הביזונים שבבעלותו. חלקים גדולים מהסרט "רוקד עם זאבים" צולמו באדמותיו, ורבים מהביזונים שלו מופיעים בכמה סצנות זכורות מהסרט.[1] הוא גם היה המייסד של "איגוד הביזון הלאומי" (National Buffalo Association).

מבחינה פוליטית, היה האוק חבר במפלגה הרפובליקנית. בין השנים 1949–1954 היה חבר בסנאט של דקוטה הדרומית. בשנת 1954 הוא נבחר לסגן מושל דרום דקוטה, תחת המושל ג'ו פוס (אנ'). הוא כיהן במשרה זו בין השנים 1955–1959. הוא היה גם יושב ראש הסנאט המדינתי, ולאחר כהונתו כסגן המושל התמסר לחוות הביזונים שלו. רוי האוק נפטר ב-22 בנובמבר 1992.
