איביזה (בקטלאנית: Eivissa; בספרדית: Ibiza) הוא אי קטן בארכיפלג של האיים הבלאריים. האי נמצא במרחק של כ-75 ק"מ ממזרח לחצי האי האיברי ובמרחק של 140 ק"מ דרומית-מערבית לאי מיורקה. בסמוך מדרום לאיביזה שוכן אי קטן נוסף בשם פורמנטרה (Formentera), ויחד הם ידועים בשם "איי האורן" (Illes Pitiüses בקטלאנית, או Islas Pitiusas בספרדית), או האיים הפיטיוסיים.
באי מתגוררים 147,914 תושבים (נכון לשנת 2019), ואלו עוסקים בעיקר בדיג ובחקלאות. בעשורים האחרונים נוספה על אלו התיירות, בעיקר מצד צעירים הפוקדים את החופים. רבים מן החופים משמשים כמועדוני ריקודים והאי נודע בשל המסיבות הרבות שנערכות בו ואופיו התוסס - המקום הוא מוקד של מסיבות שמתאפיינות בעיקר במוזיקת האוס והיה בעיקר בסוף שנות ה-90 ואף כיום המרכז של סצנת ההאוס והדאנס של אירופה.
המתיישבים הפיניקים שהגיעו לאי בשנת 654 לפנה"ס קראו לאי "איבוסים" (Ibossim או Iboshim), שפירושו "האי של האל בס"[1] או "אי בושם"[2][3]. מאוחר יותר, הרומאים קראו לאי "אבוסוס" (Ebusus).
שטחה של איביזה הוא 571.04 קמ"ר והנקודה הגבוהה ביותר באי נישאת לגובה של 476 מטר. הנוף של האי כפרי, והחקלאות בו מסורתית וכוללת עצי זית, שקד וגפנים.
עיר הבירה של האי נקראת גם היא איביזה, והתגוררו בה 50,401 תושבים בשנת 2013. שני היישובים החשובים האחרים הם סנט אנטוני דה פורטמאני (Sant Antoni de Portmany בקטלאנית או San Antonio Abad בספרדית) וסנטה אאולאריה דל ריו (Santa Eulària des Riu או Santa Eulalia del Río) שהעניקה את שמה לנחל היחיד באי היבש מזה שנים רבות.
האקלים באי הוא ים תיכוני מתון, הקיץ חם ויבש, אם כי משקעים בצורת גשם יורדים בכמויות קטנות גם במהלכו. החורף מתון ורוב המשקעים יורדים מספטמבר עד פברואר.
תרבות טלאיוט מהמחצית הראשון של האלף השני לפנה"ס הותירה את שרידיה באיים הבלארים מיורקה ומנורקה אך לא באיביזה. עם זאת, ממצאים אחרים בדמות ציורי קיר במערות ומגליתים מראים כי איביזה ופורמנטרה יושבו גם הם באותה תקופה.
בשנת 654 לפנה"ס ייסדו פיניקים מקרתגו יישוב מסחרי בצידה המזרחי של איביזה שנקרא "איבשם"' על שם האל בס. הפיניקים אף ניצלו את אוצרות המלח והעופרת באי. מתקופה זו השתמרו באי נקרופוליס פיניקי בפוץ' דס מולינס (Puig des Molins) ומערת אס קוליירם (Es Culleram) ששימשה במקדש ואשר התגלתה ב-1907.
הרומאים הגיעו לאיים הבלאריים בשנת 123 לפנה"ס, וכינו את איביזה אבסוס (Ebesus). העיר איביזה נהנתה ממידה של אוטונומיה ולא חויבה בתשלום מס. בשנת 70 לפנה"ס הסבו הרומאים את שמה של העיר לפלביה אוגוסטה (Flavia Augusta) והכלכלה באי שגשגה.
במאה ה-5 פשטו הונדלים על האי ובשנת 426 החריבו את היישוב בו לחלוטין. רק לאחר יותר ממאה שנה, בשנים 533–534, גרש בליסריוס הביזנטי את הוונדלים מהאי ואיביזה באה תחת חסות הביזנטים.
בשנת 711 נכבשה איביזה בידי העמים המורים אשר כינו אותה בשם "יַאבִּסַה", היינו "יבשה".[דרוש מקור] המורים הצליחו לבסס את שליטתם באי רק בתחילת המאה ה-10, ובשנת 859 הייתה איביזה קרבן להתקפות הויקינגים. השלטון המוסלמי באי נמשך עד שנת 1229 עת כבשו אותו הקטלאנים מידיהם, וממלכת מיורקה נוסדה בידי ז'אומה הראשון, מלך אראגון ("הכובש").
ב-1469, עם נישואי איזבלה הראשונה, מלכת קסטיליה לפרננדו השני, מלך אראגון, הייתה איביזה יחד עם יתר האיים הבלארים לחלק מספרד. חשיבותם של האיים הבלאריים ירדה החל במאה ה-15, ביצוריהם הופקרו והם היו ליעד להתקפות שודדי ים שדילדלו את אוכלוסיית האי. ב-1556 החלה בניית חומותיה של העיר איביזה, ואלה מקיפות את העיר העילית (Dalt Vila) גם כיום (לאחר הכרזת ארגון אונסק"ו על העיר העתיקה בעיר איביזה כאתר מורשת עולמית ב-1999 חודשו החומות ושופצו).
מאמצע שנות החמישים החלו להתיישב באיביזה סופרים וציירים, ואחריהם באו ההיפים בסוף שנות השישים. ההיפים התגוררו בעיקר בחלק הצפוני של האי, סביב סנט צ'ארלס.
מאז הנהגת הדמוקרטיה בספרד, איביזה היא חלק מהקהילה האוטונומית של האיים הבלאריים.
