RTL 7 הוא הערוץ השלישי של קבוצת RTL בהולנד, והושק ב-1 בספטמבר 1995. RTL 7 מוגדר כערוץ לגברים ומשודרים בו סרטי פעולה, ריאליטי, כדורגל, ספורט מוטורי ותוכניות אירוח בנושא ספורט. בעבר בשעות היום שידר ערוץ RTL Z שהוא ערוץ עסקי ופיננסי, עד ש-RTL Z קיבל רישיון שידור ב-7 בספטמבר 2015.[1]

הערוץ משודר באופן רשמי תחת רישיון של לוקסמבורג, וכך הוא נמנע מהפיקוח הנוקשה של הרשויות ההולנדיות בעוד בלוקסמבורג הפיקוח פחות קפדני.

היסטוריה

ורוניקה (1995–2001)

הערוץ החל לשדר ב-1995 תחת המותג "ורוניקה" והיה מיזם משותף של RTL 5, RTL 4 ו-Veronica Association.

בשנה הראשונה הערוץ שידר הרבה סדרות טלוויזיה אמריקאיות, ובהן בוורלי הילס 90210, מלרוז פלייס, משמר המפרץ ואחרות. בסוף השנה הראשונה הוריד הערוץ את כל התוכניות הקשורות לחדשות ומיצב את עצמו כערוץ בוגר-צעיר עם תוכניות בעלות אופי פרובוקטיבי. בשנים שלאחר מכן היה הערוץ חלוץ בתחום הטלוויזיה על ידי הצגת מגוון רחב של תוכניות, והיה הערוץ שהשיק בשנת 1999 את תוכנית הריאליטי המצליחה האח הגדול.[2]

בשנת 2000 הודיע ארגון ורוניקה כי יפרוש מהמיזם המשותף כיוון ורצה להקים ערוץ טלוויזיה עצמאי. לבסוף בשנת 2003 חתם הארגון על עסקה עם SBS.

יורין (2001–2005)

RTL נאלצו לשנות את שם הערוץ. בתחילה הוצע השם ME אך חברת אופנה בהולנד התלוננה על הדמיון בין שם הערוץ לשמה.[3] לבסוף מותג הערוץ מחדש תחת השם יורין ב-2 באפריל 2001.

RTL 7 (מאז 2005)

כאשר איל המדיה ההולנדי וממציא "האח הגדול" ג'ון דה מול ייסד את חברת ההפקה טלפה, והחל ליצור קשרים עם מנחי טלוויזיה הולנדיים פופולריים רבים, בקבוצת RTL התעורר הצורך לארגן מחדש את ערוצי הטלוויזיה שלה, ומלבד התחדשות פיזית, השתנו ערוצים RTL 4, RTL 5 ו-Yorin. כדי להדגיש את הקשר בין שלושת הערוצים, הוחלף השם Yorin על ידי RTL 7 ב-12 באוגוסט 2005. מבחינת תוכן, כל התוכניות של Yorin הועברו ל-RTL 5 ובוצעו מעברים שונים בין תוכניות טלוויזיה של הקבוצה.

המספר 7 נבחר (במקום 6, שיותר הגיוני כיוון שיוצר רצף בין ערוצים 4,5,6) כיוון שבאותה תקופה בה הערוץ המקורי, ורוניקה נוסד, הערוצים המסחריים SBS 6 ו-TMF עלו לאוויר.

ב-15 באוקטובר 2009 החלו ערוצים RTL 7 ו-RTL 8 לשדר בהפרדה גבוהה.

תוכניות

RTL 7 משדר תוכניות רבות בנושא ספורט, כגון כדורגל, ספורט מוטורי ועוד, אם כי סיקור ספורט מוטורי מהווה עיקר שידורי הספורט של הערוץ, כשזה כולל שידור חי של טורניר פורמולה 1 ואת מוטו GP.

טלטקסט

הערוץ הציע בעבר שירות טלטקסט, עד שהופסקה פעילותו ב-1 באפריל 2017.
