אתר נקודת טריאנגולציה 3M הוא אתר קטן בנגב המערבי, שנועד לציין את הקמת רשת המיפוי - רשת ישראל הישנה, על ידי ציון אחד מקודקודי המשולש הראשון שנמדד על ידי המנדט הבריטי ב-1922 ושימש בסיס לרשת הטריאנגולציה הראשונה שמיפתה את ארץ ישראל.

האתר נמצא בצמוד לכביש הרעב מדרום לו, כ-1 קילומטר ממערב לצומת הכניסה למושב מסלול, על גבי גבעה קטנה הצופה על שטחים חקלאיים נרחבים הנמצאים מדרום לה. האתר הוקם ב-2010, על ידי הגופים: המועצה האזורית מרחבים, יחידה סביבתית נגב מערבי במשרד להגנת הסביבה, קרן קיימת לישראל,[1] רשות ניקוז והמרכז למיפוי ישראל,[2] במלאת כ-90 שנה לתחילת המדידות של רשת ישראל הישנה.[1]

הסימון M הוא עבור המילה Major (ראשי באנגלית) ומבהיר כי מדובר ברשת קואורדינטות הראשית. שלושת קודקודי המשולש הם:

  • נקודה 1M נמצאת בשטח חקלאי מצפון־מערב למושב פטיש ואין לה ציון בשטח.[2]
  • נקודה 2M נמצאת בשטח חקלאי ממזרח לקיבוץ אורים ומצוינת על ידי חבית נמוכה המוקפת בשלושה עמודי ברזל.[3]
  • נקודה 3M באתר מסודר ממערב למושב מסלול.

קו הבסיס של המשולש נמדד בין נקודות 1M ‏ ו-2M, במשך כמה שבועות, באמצעות סרט מדידה שהיה עשוי מחומר שנקרא אינוור. זהו חומר העמיד בפני מתיחה וכיווץ הנגרמים כתוצאה משינויים במזג האוויר ומבלאי.[2] אורכו הוא 4,780.30 מטר.[4] אורך קו 1M-3M הוא 5,685.30 מטר ואורך קו 2M-3M הוא 5,134.05.[2]
