משפט בנך-שטיינהאוס

משפט בנך-שטיינהאוס, הידוע גם בשם עקרון החסימות במידה שווה, הוא משפט מתמטי יסודי וחשוב באנליזה פונקציונלית. עיקרון זה טוען עבור משפחה של העתקות ליניאריות רציפות על מרחב בנך, שאם יש חסם משותף לכל האופרטורים במשפחה בכל נקודה של המרחב, אז יש חסם אחיד על הנורמה שלהם.

משפט זה, יחד עם משפט האן-בנך ומשפט ההעתקה הפתוחה, נחשב לאחד משלוש אבני היסוד של האנליזה הפונקציונלית. גרסה מוקדמת של המשפט הופיעה במאמר של סטפן בנך והוגו שטיינהאוס ב-1927. המשפט הוכח באותו זמן גם על ידי האנס האן.

המשפט

יהי $X$ מרחב בנך ויהי $Y$ מרחב נורמי כלשהו. תהי ${\mathcal {F}}$ משפחה של העתקות ליניאריות רציפות $T_{\alpha }\colon X\rightarrow Y$ .

אם לכל $x\in X$ הקבוצה $\left\{T_{\alpha }(x):T_{\alpha }\in {\mathcal {F}}\right\}$ חסומה, אז גם קבוצת הנורמות $\left\{||T_{\alpha }||:T_{\alpha }\in {\mathcal {F}}\right\}$ חסומה.

הוכחה

למשפט חשוב זה יש הוכחה קצרה המסתמכת על משפט הקטגוריה של בייר (Baire).

לכל מספר טבעי $\,n$ , נגדיר $X_{n}=\left\{x\in X:\|T_{\alpha }(x)\|\leq n,\;\forall T_{\alpha }\in {\mathcal {F}}\right\}$ . לפי ההנחה, קיים חסם משותף בכל נקודה, ולכן $\bigcup _{n}{X_{n}}=X$ . הקבוצות $X_{n}$ הן קבוצות סגורות, משום שהקבוצות $\ Z_{n}^{\alpha }=\left\{x\in X:\|T_{\alpha }(x)\|\leq n\right\}$ סגורות לכל $\alpha$ בגלל הרציפות של $T_{\alpha }$ , ולכן החיתוך $X_{n}=\bigcap _{\alpha }{Z_{n}^{\alpha }}$ גם הוא סגור.
